Batavia Police Charge 'Transient' With Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl
(STMW) -- A 52-year-old man police described as "transient" is behind bars Friday after he was charged with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in west suburban Batavia.
Jay Davies, whose address is unknown, is charged with two counts each of criminal sexual assault by use of threat or force; and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim 13-17, according to Batavia police. He was ordered held in the Kane County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
The victim's parents notified police Thursday of the incident, which occurred at the girl's home late Wednesday night or Thursday morning, according to a statement from police.
Davies was taken into custody about 2 p.m., and after being questioned by police and the Kane County Child Advocacy Center, was charged, police said.
