Bald Eagles Spotted In Batavia
BATAVIA, Ill. (STMW) - A group of bald eagles have been sighted in west suburban Batavia, perching near the Fox River.
Ron Dickenson of Batavia said he has seen as many as six of the birds flying around downtown Batavia, near the Harold Hall Quarry Beach on the Fox River's east side, near the Wilson Street Bridge and Clark Island near downtown and near the Batavia City Hall.
Dickenson said he has seen two adult eagles and four younger eagles.
"They hang out along the south part of the dams near open waters where they can fish during the winter months," he said, "The immature eagles try to remove fish from the claws of the adults."
