Bail Set At $250,000 After Man Attacks Driver In Elgin

ELGIN (CBS) -- A man attacked a the driver of a vehicle and stole her cell phone Sunday in northwest suburban Elgin.

Yeison De Brayan Hernandez-Luz, 24, of the 300 block of Kathleen Drive in Elgin, was charged with two counts of vehicular invasion, a Class 1 felony, and felony counts of theft, aggravated battery and possession of a fraudulent identification card.

According to police, he attacked a woman in her car to steal her cell phone, biting her on the cheek in the process.

Bail was set at $250,000 and he was given a Dec. 3 court date.
