Authorities Seek Mother Of Newborn Found Dead In Wheaton
(CBS) -- Authorities are searching for the mother of a newborn found dead near west suburban Wheaton Monday afternoon.
The body was found about 2:45 p.m. near a private drive off the 25W400 block of Plamondon Road in unincorporated Wheaton, according to the DuPage County sheriff's and coroner's offices.
An autopsy Tuesday did not rule on the cause or manner of the child's death, with final results pending further investigation.
"The Sheriff's Office is concerned for the health and well-being of the mother," police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. "This mother may possibly be in need of medical care and other support. We realize there are unforeseen circumstances that can lead to these types of incidents and at this time care for the mother is paramount."
