Kenosha County Murder Suspect Apprehended In Northern Illinois
UPDATE: 4:31 p.m. 10/13/15
(CBS) --After being on the loose for two and a half weeks a suspect in a Kenosha County Wisconsin murder is in custody in Lake County, Illinois, according to Wisconsin authorities.
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth says in a statement that Andrew Obregon "was taken into custody in Illinois just south of the Wisconsin State line near Winthrop Harbor (Illinois)."
Sheriff Beth says Obregon carjacked a Chevy Spark earlier in the day in Kenosha County but then was on foot in the Winthrop Harbor area.
Obregon has been wanted for almost three weeks - since the murder of a 37-year-old man whose body was found in a Kenosha County cornfield.
After that - the sheriff says Obregon has been involved in three other chases with law enforcement - before today's chase.
Beth says Obregon has carjacked or stolen at least five vehicles. And had the Kenosha County area on edge - with the manhunt going on for so long.
