Man Shot And Killed In Austin
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot to death Tuesday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood, police said.
The 19-year-old was riding his bicycle in the 1500 block of North Lockwood at 9:27 a.m. when two male suspects approached and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.
He was shot multiple times in the torso and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
A police source said the victim is a documented gang member and the shooting is believed to be gang-related.
