Aurora Woman, Sons Found Safe In Florida
FT. PIERCE, Fla. (CBS) -- An Aurora woman has been found safe with her three children and a teenage girl from Cicero that was once her student, more than a month after they all vanished.
Aurora police say Laureth "Laurie" May, 29, was found in Ft. Pierce, Fla., with her three small boys – Quincy Collins, 4, Oliver Collins, 2, and Spencer Collins, 1 – and her former student, Destiny Gruba, 17, of Cicero.
A Florida Highway Patrol officer pulled over May's 2001 Volvo station wagon Tuesday morning, after randomly running the license plate while on routine patrol. The officer found all five inside in good health, the statement said.
Police said family is making arrangements to pick up the children.
Aurora police say they do not plan on filing criminal charges, who have been working with Cicero police.
May, her boys and Gruba had not been seen or heard from since Feb. 15.
May had been fired from her teaching job, and got into a fight with her fiancé, Shelton Collins, on Valentine's Day. Afterward, she hopped into her station wagon with their children and left the following day, apparently picking up Gruba on the way.
