Aurora Police Release Surveillance Images From Tie-Up Robberies
(STMW) -- Four recent west suburban robberies may be related, and police are releasing surveillance photos of the suspects involved, police said.
The two most recent robberies happened Thursday night, roughly within 30 minutes, Aurora police said in a statement.
About 8:45 p.m., three robbers entered an Auto Zone in the 1000 block of East Galena Boulevard and tied up two employees, police said. They demanded cash from a third employee and ran away with the money.
About 9:10 p.m., three other men matching their description held up a Marathon Gas Station in the 1700 block of North Farnsworth Avenue, police said. A 58-year-old gas station employee said one of the suspect ordered him at gunpoint to open the register, and bound his wrists after grabbing cash and boxes of cigars.
The first robbery happened Tuesday at a Payday Loan Store in the 900 block of East New York Street, police said. They again bound the wrists of two employees and ran off with cash.
Suspects may be using a white crossover-type SUV, possibly driven by a fourth man.
No one was injured in any of the robberies, and the same suspects may have also robbed a gas station Thursday in neighboring North Aurora.
Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police at (630) 256-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
