Aurora Police Asking For Public's Help In Finding Hit-And-Run Driver

(CBS) -- West suburban police are asking for the public's help finding a hit and run driver, reports WBBM's Cisco Cotto.

Aurora Police say the red pick-up truck was on Liberty near Farnsworth Thursday night, moving at a high rate of speed. Police say it hit a bicyclist and launched the rider through the air.

Part of the truck's grill was left behind, so police know it is red but don't have a make and model and don't have a description of the driver.

"It is not only frustrating, it's quite shocking that someone would do that and just continue on like there is nothing wrong and we want to hold this person accountable," said Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.
The bicyclist was critically wounded but is in stable condition.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Aurora Police Traffic Investigators at 630-256-5330 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
