Aurora Man Pleads Guilty To Sexually Assaulting Two Girls
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (STMW) - A west suburban man agreed to a 20-year prison sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting two young girls in 2010.
James R. Woodard, 20, of the 900 block of North Calumet Avenue in Aurora, pleaded guilty to one count each of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kane County State's Attorney's office. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and must register for life as a sex offender.
From April to June 2010, Woodard had sexual contact with a minor, prosecutors said, and had sexual contact with another minor in November 2010. The victims were 12 and 13 years old at the time.
Woodard will serve 15 years for the predatory criminal sexual assault conviction and five years for the aggravated criminal sexual abuse conviction, the release said. The sentences are to be served consecutively.
He must serve at least 85 percent of the 15-year sentence and is eligible for day-for-day sentencing for the five-year sentence, the release said. He was given credit for at least 435 days served in the Kane County Jail.
