Attention Holiday Shoppers: Avoid Handicapped Parking
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- When you head out to the mall this weekend for holiday shopping, don't be tempted to park in handicapped spots.
Police will be patrolling.

"Police will be at Woodfield, Oakbook and Orland Park malls enforcing the law," Secretary of State Jesse White said.
The fines for using an illegal placard: $500. That would buy somebody a nice Christmas present or two.
Over the holiday season last year, police wrote 211 tickets for illegal parking in designated handicapped spots.
White would be happy if police wrote no tickets this year, because it would mean everybody was parking where they should and leaving the spaces for those who need them
