At Least Five Wounded In Saturday Night Shootings
CHICAGO (STMW) -- At least five people were wounded in apparently unrelated shootings Saturday night on the South Side.
The shooting started about 9:25 p.m. Saturday when a 48-year-old woman standing in the 5600 block of South Marshfield Avenue was shot, police said. She told officers she heard shots and felt pain.
The woman was taken in good condition to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center with a gunshot wound to the right arm.
About 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a 31-year-old man was walking in the 1200 block of West 72nd Street when a gunman approached on foot and shot him in the abdomen area, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
About 11 p.m. Saturday, a 20-year-old man was shot in the 600 block of West 25th Place, police said. The man was walking with friends when they encountered the gunman and an argument ensued.
Police said the gunman shot the man in the leg. He was in "stable" condition at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County early Sunday, police said.
About a half hour later, a 19-year-old man standing outside in the 5600 block of South King Drive when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. He was taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the ankle, wrist and buttocks.
About 11:40 p.m. Saturday, a 32-year-old man was outside in the 6000 block of South Champlain Avenue when he heard shots and realized he was shot in the leg, police said. He was in good condition at Stroger Hospital early Sunday.
Detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody early Sunday.
