Artworks Stolen From Deerfield Fair
DEERFIELD, Ill. (CBS) -- Deerfield police are on the hunt for an art thief.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Felicia Middlebrooks reports, 100 artists from around the country gathered in Deerfield over the weekend for the northern suburb's Festival of Fine Arts. They had closed down for the night and secured their booths at 6 p.m. June 4, the Highland Park Patch reported.
But while most of the artists found their items in their booths, a few found them missing the following morning, the Patch reported.

Among the stolen items were a piece of stonework worth $1,500, a rainbow mosaic worth $290, and a female mannequin with 75 sterling earrings, the Patch reported.
Police have not made any arrests, but have received a report of a middle-aged woman who went around with a clipboard asking each artist of certain works would still be there the next day, the Patch reported.
The festival was held at Park Avenue and Deerfield Road alongside Jewett Park, and featured 150 artists altogether. Artists Renee and Jim Engebretson won best of show for their glass work, while Rosie and Dave Claus won first place for their mixed media.
The Patch did not specify which artists lost their work.
