Armed Robbers Hold Up Pizzeria
PLAINFIELD, Ill. (STMW) -- Two robbers, one with a gun, forced an employee of a southwest suburban pizzeria back into the restaurant after closing late Sunday, and stole about $2,000 from a safe.
Police were called at 11:42 p.m. to Cici's Pizza, 11830 S. Route 59 in Plainfield, according to a release from police. The employee told police that two men -- one with a black handgun -- approached him as he was leaving the restaurant. The two forced him back inside and demanded he open the safe, the release said.
Once the safe was open, the robbers fled the through a rear exit door. They took approximately $2,000 in a bank deposit envelope.
The robbers were described as:
-- a black male about 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, wearing a black hooded jacket and a red bandanna over his face;
-- a black male 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, and 200 pounds, wearing a black hooded jacket with a red bandanna covering his face.
