Armed Robbers Hit Two Chicago Lawn Businesses
Two businesses in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side have been robbed at gunpoint in the last two weeks, police said.
The robberies were reported on May 19 about 9:48 p.m. in the 2900 block of West 63rd Street and again on June 1 about 2:37 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to an alert from Area Central detectives.
In each case, two men walk into the business, pull a handgun and demand cash and cellphones form the victims, police said.
The suspects were both described as black men. One is between 18 and 27 years old, standing 6-fort-1 to 6-foot-2 and weighing 175 pounds, police said. The other is between 18 and 24 and stands between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8.
