Armed Burglary Ends In High-Speed Chase, Crash
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (STMW) -- Two men being sought for an armed robbery in Hodgkins crashed their getaway car Thursday night in southwest suburban Bolingbrook.
State police were pursuing the vehicle on Interstate 55 about 7:10 p.m. when Lavell Fort, 20, allegedly exited onto northbound Weber Road, then crashed into two other vehicles at Boughton Road. No one was injured in the collision.
Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa said Fort and passenger Stephen Jakes, 26, ran in opposite directions, but both were caught. One of the suspects "ended up hiding in a Dumpster at Chili's," Rompa said.
Fort was cited for driving without a license, reckless driving and failing to reduce speed.
