Armando Allen Signs Tender With Bears
(CBS) Armando Allen signed his exclusive rights tender with the Bears Thursday, meaning the third-year running back out of Notre Dame will be in the mix for the backup running back job again.
Allen played in 15 games for the Bears last season, gaining 124 yards on 27 carries. He was primarily the third running back until backup Michael Bush was injured.
Allen is among four running backs currently signed to the Bears roster, along with Bush, starter Matt Forte and seldom-used Harvey Unga.
He originally joined the Bears as a member of the practice squad in 2011.
