Arkush: Bears' Best Football Will Rout Seahawks
No one expected the Seattle Seahawks to knock off the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. Could the same fate await the Chicago Bears?
One of the big reasons for the Seahawks' upset of the Saints was the performance of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck threw for 272 yards and four touchdowns. While Hasselbeck's performance isn't reflective of the way he's played all season, getting hot at the right time can take a team far in the playoffs.
"Well I think so," NFL analyst, Hub Arkush said on the Danny Mac Show when asked if Hasselbeck could repeat that performance against the Bears. "He's a 12-year veteran, it's not the first time he's done it. He's been to Pro-Bowls, and he did have his best game of the season [on] Saturday. So that has to concern you a little bit."

Despite last week's impressive win, the Seahawks' regular season performance can't be ignored.
"I think the only fair analysis of this one is," Arkush said," let's just get it out of the way, for the first time in the history of the National Football League, that a team gets a sub-.500 team in a divisional playoff game for a chance to go to the title game.
"That's what you got. You got one of the poorer team in the NFL. Yes, they've one their last two [games], but those nine loses, [were] all by 15 points or more. And so the question is: How good are the Chicago Bears?"
You can't be too critical of the Seahawks without being critical of the Bears. In their one head-to-head matchup this season, the Seahawks beat the Bears in Soldier Field. But the winner of the game on Sunday will come down to which team has improved the most since then.
"I think we're going to waste a lot of conversation this week talking about the Seattle Seahawks," Arkush said. "Because they're exactly what we thing they are. They're a less than mediocre team...who played well against New Orleans, although they didn't play much defense.
"The bottom line is, are the Bears going to show up and play their best football? Because if they do, they win by three or four touchdowns. Or are they going to stumble around?"
