Arkush: Bears Are Waving Goodbye To Playoffs
(WSCR) Three weeks ago, the Bears were riding a five-game winning streak, poised to make the playoffs. Fast forward to today, and that playoff lock looks a bit uncertain.
After Jay Cutler when down with a thumb injury, backup quarterback Caleb Hanie took over and has looked like a less-than-adequate replacement. Hanie has thrown six interceptions in two games with a combined quarterback rating of 40.8.
"It's obvious that you gotta do something at quarterback," Hub Arkush told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "Lovie can stand there and say these are our quarterbacks all he wants, but if he's not ready to put Josh McCown out there with what they've seen of him in the last week and a half, then they need to get somebody else. They're not going to do that, is what we're told. What I thought was a lock for the playoffs, I now think that they're doing their best to wave goodbye to them."
