Aramis Ramirez: 'We're Ready To Move On'
(CBS) Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez left Tuesday's game with a quad strain and it appears he has played his last game on the North Side.
"Probably," he said when asked if he had played his last game at Wrigley Field. "There's a good chance. I'm a free agent and I don't know what's going to happen. But it looks like I'm going to hit the market."
Ramirez is listed as day-to-day with the injury and is not in the lineup for the final home game of the season Wednesday.
"We'll see what happens. I'm just speculating right now. It's going to be different (Wednesday) because it's going to be the first time that I don't know if I'm coming back," Ramirez said.
The Cubs hold a $16 million option on the third baseman, but Ramirez is in limbo right now because there is no general manager for his agent to talk to. He said they have not talked to Chariman Tom Ricketts.
"I think we're ready to move on," Ramirez said.
