Anti-Cruelty Society Joins Search For Stolen Dog
WOODRIDGE, Ill. (WBBM) -- The Anti-Cruelty Society is stepping in to try to find a stolen dog - and reunite him with his family in Woodridge.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Steve Miller reports, it has been almost a week since Remy, the 3 1/2-year-old shih-tzu-poodle mix, was taken by burglars from his family's home in Woodridge – cage and all.

Police can't figure out why. Remy isn't purebred and isn't worth a lot for resale; he was adopted from an out-of-state home.
Now, the Anti-Cruelty Society is getting involved. President Dr. Robyn Barbiers says the agency will be a go-between to appeal to the thieves' better angels.
"Bring it to us, no questions asked, and we will get the dog reunited with the family," Barbiers said.
Three and a half years ago, the Anti-Cruelty Society did the same thing to try to get Reba the dog back after she was stolen from her owner in the Loop. The tactic worked.
Besides Remy, the Woodridge thief or thieves took some electronics, some liquor and two china cups, Woodridge police Sgt. Tom Stefanson said earlier this week.
