Another Report, Another Denial By Meyer About OSU Job
(CBS) At this point, about every media outlet in the country has reported that Urban Meyer will be taking the Ohio State head coaching job that isn't even available yet, but few reports have has much detail as WKMG-TV's in Orlando.
The local television station reports Meyer has agreed to seven-year, $40 million deal.
According to the report, "Meyer will bring several current (Florida Gators) assistant coaches with him to Columbus, including D.J. Durkin, the Gators' linebackers coach, who will be the OSU defensive coordinator."
Current Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell is expected to be kept on the staff as an assistant, the report adds.
Still, Meyer continues to deny that he has accepted or even been offered a deal by OSU.
The current ESPN analyst said in a statement Wednesday: "I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place. I plan on spending Thanksgiving with my family and will not comment on this any further."
Meyer grew up in Ohio and has a graduate degree from Ohio State.
