Another hot day in Chicago on Thursday
CHICAGO (CBS)—Over the next seven days, we are forecasting Chicago's hottest-ever mid-September stretch of weather with little to no rainfall.
The remnants of Hurricane Francine remain to our south, sending only high cloud cover and a few sprinkles our way through Saturday. Most, if not all, areas will remain dry through the weekend.
A building ridge of high pressure over the Great Lakes responsible for shunting the tropical system away will send temperatures soaring Sunday into next week.
High temperatures may approach 90 on Sunday and remain in the 80s through the next work week. This is more than 10 degrees above normal for mid-September.
