Another Doctor Linked To Sacred Heart Hospital Arrested
CHICAGO (AP) -- Another doctor has been arrested as part of a wide-ranging investigation of Chicago's Sacred Heart Hospital.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago, Randall Samborn, confirmed on Thursday that authorities had arrested Kenneth Nave in Miami Wednesday. Sacred Heart's owner, another hospital executive and four doctors were arrested Tuesday in an alleged kickback scheme. A complaint filed earlier this week accused Nave of distribution of the controlled substance hydrocodone without proper authority.
Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation also announced Thursday it had yanked Nave's license to practice. It said Nave had his license suspended in 2002 and 2008 and that he was on probation at the time of the alleged offences.
A message at an office phone number for Nave said it had been disconnected.
