'Angry' Window Breaker Sought
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are looking for a man who hurled a piece of concrete at a bank window in Andersonville and a can of fruit at a cell phone store in Uptown early Thursday on the North Side.
About 1:15 a.m. police were called to the 1000 block of West Argyle Street for a man who had thrown a can of fruit at the window of a cell phone store, according to Lincoln District police Sgt. Patrick Barker. The can damaged the window of the store, and a camera captured a photo of the suspect, Barker said.
Then at about 4 a.m. a person fitting the description of the suspect in the Argyle incident was spotted heaving a piece of curb at a Chase Bank branch window at 5134 N. Clark St., according to Barker.
The thick glass shattered but did not cause the glass to fall out of the window. A person who saw him began following him for about a half a block, but he was not caught, Barker said.
It was not known why the suspect was damaging windows, but he is apparently "angry,'' speculated Barker.
No one has been arrested as of 9 p.m.
