American Airlines Flight From Chicago Diverted To St. Louis
ST. LOUIS (STMW) -- An American Airlines plane en route from O'Hare International Airport to Dallas made an emergency landing Monday morning in St. Louis after a pilot became ill.
Flight AA2309, which departed O'Hare at 9:53 a.m., was in the air for about an hour when the first officer became ill, according to a statement from American Airlines.
The MD-80 plane made an emergency landing at 10:51 a.m. at a St. Louis airport, with another pilot resuming the sick officer's duties. The first officer was taken to a hospital in St. Louis, the statement said.
The flight, carrying 140 passengers and five crew members, continued with a new cockpit crew and is expected to arrive at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at 1:37 p.m., according to American.
