Amazing Radar Image Shows Devastating One-Two Weather Punch
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Last night's storms were the equivalent of a heavyweight prize fighter throwing a stiff jab followed by a devastating hook.
This radar image shared by the National Weather Service shows the first punch with more potent storms following later.
There were several reports of wind damage across the area.
In Earlville, a LaSalle county town about 75 miles south of Chicago, straight line winds downed several trees and damaged roofs and garages, especially in the south portion of the town, the weather service said on Tuesday.
Preliminary information indicates those winds ranged from 80 to 100 miles per hour.
