Alzheimer's Patient's Family Seeks Miracle
DANVILLE, Ill. (WBBM) -- An elderly couple from downstate Danville and their family are hoping for a Christmas miracle.
Like a thief in the night, Alzheimer's disease stole the memory of Virginia Davis, 77, who is now bedridden in a nursing home, and on a feeding tube.

Her husband Gene, 80, visits his wife of 58 years three times a day, every day. He tells the Danville Commercial News the disease struck shortly after Virginia retired.
But he hasn't given up hope that she will get better.
The Davises had a family miracle in 1986, when son Randy had a head injury and went into a coma. Despite doctors' predictions it would be permanent, he came out of it.
Randy and his brother, Rick, both visit their mother frequently. They say their incredible love story keeps their entire family hopeful.
