Almost 40 People Arrested During Sweep Of Harvey
HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) -- The Cook County sheriff says he and his team took dozens of suspected criminals off the streets in Harvey last week.
As WBBM Newsradio's Lisa Fielding reports, sheriff Tom Dart says his officers were armed with 200 arrest warrants.

By the end of the day, they had apprehended 22 wanted fugitives who had charges ranging from misdemeanors such as driving on a suspended license and domestic battery to felony charges of burglary, forgery, robbery, retail theft and unlawful use of a weapon.
Eviction crews and animal crime units were also included in the sweep.
The units found several pets living in poor conditions. They were all turned over to local humane societies.
According to the Sun-Times Media Wire, there was also a gang task force included in the sweep. It cuffed 15 people for mostly drug-related crimes.
"We will continue to have our gang team focus on this area to let the gangbangers in Harvey know that their behavior will not be tolerated," Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said in a written statement.
