Algonquin Man Indicted On Child Porn Charges
ROCKFORD, Ill. (STMW) - A northwest suburban Algonquin man is one of two men indicted Wednesday on charges of transporting child pornography.
John Carlson, 37, of Algonquin and Jason Nicoson, 34, of Roscoe, were indicted Wednesday by federal grant jury in Rockford.
Each man is charged in separate cases with two counts of transporting child pornography via the Internet and one count of possessing child pornography that had crossed state lines. The charges carry a maximum sentence on each count of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
The indictments were announced by Gary S. Shapiro, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Robert D. Grant, special agent in charge of the Chicago FBI office. The Algonquin Police Department, Illinois State Police and the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted in the investigations.
