Alexei Ramirez Signs Extension With White Sox
MIAMI (CBS) -- Alexei Ramirez has signed a four-year, $32.5 million contract extension to stay with the White Sox.
The White Sox had control of Ramirez through 2013, but had been seeking an extension, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The extension includes a $10 million option for a fifth year, the newspaper reported.
The deal would continue through the first year of free agency. It was first reported by El Nuevo Herald in Miami.
Ramirez batted .292 with 18 home runs and 70 RBIs last season, the Sun-Times reported.
