Alert Issued After Robbery Of Senior On South Side
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police have issued an alert, with a surveillance photo of a suspect, following the violent robbery of a senior citizen in the lobby of his apartment building in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.
The victim was approached by two men as he entered the hallway vestibule of his building in the 600 block of East 69th Street, according to a community alert from Area central detectives.
The men battered and robbed the victim -- who suffered injuries in the attack, the alert said.
The offenders were described as black men, one with a thin build and one with a heavy build, the alert said. the one with a heavy build, who is in the surveillance photo, is between 40 and 50 years old and about 5-feet-9-inches tall. The other man is between 30 and 40 years old, and between 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11.
