Ald. Sposato, Former Fireman, Calls TV Show 'Chicago Fire' Kooky
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Ald. Nicholas Sposato (36th), a firefighter on leave while he serves on the City Council, took some time Friday to offer his review of a new TV series, "Chicago Fire," filmed in the city.
"I thought it was a little kooky. I kind of stopped watching it," Sposato said.
WBBM Newsradio's John Cody reports the alderman said there were too many specific mistakes for him.
"I mean, they have the guys one minute they're a downtown company, then they're a West Side or a South Side company. The chief's in charge of the paramedics," he said.
But Sposato did praise the atmospherics inside a burning building displayed the show.
"You know, I mean guys fall through floors. You go into burning buildings, they're searching for people. There's a fire five feet away from you. Yeah, that's correct and true," he said.
Sposato said Chicago Fire got a better response from the other end of the family sofa.
"My daughter and wife tell me the firefighters are outstandingly handsome," he said.
