Ald. Burke Trial Date To Be Set In June

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Embattled Alderman Ed Burke (14th) will know later this summer when he'll go to trial on corruption charges.

Prosecutors asked for a 2021 trial date, which the judge approved. The exact date will be set in June.

Burke is charged with federal racketeering and attempted extortion. Burke pleaded not guilty.

He's accused of using his position at City Hall to shake down developers for his own benefit.
