Albany Park Man Dies A Day After Being Punched In Fight
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died Monday after being punched during a fight early Sunday in the North Side Albany Park neighborhood.
Celestino Nuevo, 58, of the 4900 block of North Kimball Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:35 a.m. at Swedish Covenant Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
About 2 a.m. Sunday, Nuevo became involved in a fight with a male in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. He was punched in the face and fell onto the sidewalk.
He suffered bone fractures to his face and swelling of the brain, Zala said.
Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
