Airports Cancel More Than 200 Flights As Snowstorm Hits Chicago Area
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The winter storm this weekend canceled hundreds of flights at both O'Hare and Midway international airports.
Between Saturday night and Sunday night, O'Hare canceled 231 flights because of the winter storm, and Midway canceled 71.

At O'Hare, the steady snowfall particularly overnight Saturday into Sunday kept crews on their toes.
Plows spent the evening clearing snow from the runways and gate areas. Crews with shovels also tried to sweep away snow from outdoor parking lots.
The snowstorm Saturday and Sunday was the biggest the Chicago area has seen in years.

As the storm moved out late Sunday, 12.7 inches of snow were reported in Romeoville and Peotone, 12.4 inches in Downers Grove, a foot exactly in Oak Park and Deerfield, 11.5 inches in Wilmette, and 11.4 inches in Roselle.
