At Midway International Airport, airlines were reporting delays averaging 30 minutes or more, and more than 30 cancellations, as of 3:30 p.m.
Passengers traveling through Chicago's airports today should check their airlines' website or call to confirm the status of their flight.
Heavy rain and flooding in the Chicago area caused a number of intermittent road closures around O'Hare on Thursday. As of 3:30 p.m., the only remaining road closure was Irving Park Road between Mannheim and York roads.
There are also reports of road closures in the suburbs surrounding O'Hare.
Those traveling to O'Hare and Midway today should allow extra time to get to the airport.
