Aikman: NFL In Europe 'Arrogant'
(WSCR) Troy Aikman made it pretty clear that he is not a fan of the NFL's plans to expand overseas.
The Bears and Bucs were the latest catalysts in the NFL's experiment to expand. Aikman said if the league wants to expand, they need to better promote the international games, not hide them in the noon slot.
"I'm not real crazy about it," Aikman told The Mully and Hanley Show on Monday." My issue with it is if we're going to act like it's a big deal, then let's make it a big deal. Let's make it a Sunday night primetime game or at least put it in a late window on Sunday afternoon and send it to 90 percent of the country. That game went to about 15 percent of the country."

The league has talked about starting a franchise overseas – something Aikman referred to as "arrogant."
"It's tough for teams to go over there and it would be even tough for that team to get over here for the eight road games," Aikman said. "I've been a part of the world league on the broadcasting side; I know what the NFL is trying to do there. The Europeans over there were not all that excited about U.S. football. They want to focus on soccer. I think there is a little bit of arrogance on our part in thinking that these other countries are just excited about watching American football. … Logistically, it really doesn't make a lot of sense. I think when it comes down to it, it won't work because of the (logistical) reason or because other countries simply aren't interested.
"There are a lot of cities around this country that would love to have an NFL team starting with Los Angeles. I think we should start focusing on that before we worry about getting a team in London."
