Aikman: Even With Hanie, Bears Can Make Playoffs
(WSCR) It would appear a turning point in the Bears five-point loss to the Raiders on Sunday was Caleb Hanie's interception that closed out the first half.
Making the first start of his career, Hanie threw a costly interception on second-and-one inside the red zone that ultimately led to a field goal for the Raiders.
Instead of the Bears taking at worst a chip shot from Robbie Gould, the Raiders had the ball in their red zone. It was a six-point swing that proved to be the difference.
"As soon as the ball came out of his hand, even from the television copy, you said, 'Wow, this looks like trouble.' The guy who I thought was going to intercept it didn't intercept it," Hall of Famer Troy Aikman told The Mully and Hanley Show. "The ball got tipped up, but yet the (Bears) defense made a great stand there. I thought that was a turning point, but it's hard to really say that when the defense is able to keep them to a field goal."

Even with the Bears loss, Aikman still thinks Chicago can make the playoffs.
"The Lions, I think, are in trouble," Aikman said. "They've got some tough opponents, not that they're not all tough. Chicago, looking at the rest of their schedule, they've got some teams that they should be able to beat if they're able to play good football."
