Aikman: Despite Disappointment, No Reason To Give Up On Bears
Normally Mondays aren't the best day of the week. A Monday in Chicago following a Bears' loss to the Packers in the NFC Championship game can be painful.
The disappointment felt by Bears' fans today is normal, and to be expected. But that disappointment isn't just felt by those who braved the cold in Soldier Field, or watched the game with friends and family. That disappointment is felt just as strongly in Halas Hall.
"There's no question there's a huge disappointment," Hall of Fame quarterback, Troy Aikman said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "To a man, within that organization they would argue with me that the Packers are a better team. They went in expecting to win, thought they were the better team."

There were a lot of fans who, along with the players, expected a different outcome. But today, while the players are excited to rid themselves of the bitter taste of defeat and get beyond this point next season, there are some fans who aren't as optimistic about the future.
"This league is different each and every year," Aikman said. "It's different each and every week. To suggest that the Bears will never play a championship game again because this year was so great, because of not having anyone injured, I think is a little naive on everyone's part."
With players like Jay Cutler, Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Charles Tillman, Devin Hester and Matt Fotre returning next season, there's no reason to think they can't be just as good next season.
And with a few key additions through the NFL Draft or free agency, the Bears could be even better next season.
