Agent Brings Lovie Smith To IMG
(WSCR) In a move that could add a few more zeroes to the back of Lovie Smith's contract, the football coach is now a part of IMG, the largest sports management firm in the world.
Smith's agent, his son Matthew, made the switch to IMG Worldwide. The younger Smith now works as a client manager in the coaching division.
"For me, first, (I'm) a proud dad," Smith told WBBM's Josh Liss. "As you pick an agent, you need someone you can trust that has your back at all times. Matthew has been around the business a long time in sports, being around football. So, we're excited about it."
The 26-year-old Smith graduated from Northwestern and Loyola Chicago School of Law and recently passed the Illinois Bar Exam. In addition to his father, Smith brings his older brother and Bears nickel backs coach Mikal Smith, Bears offensive assistant Andrew Hayes-Stoker and Toledo associate head coach/running game coordinator Lewis Ayeni to IMG.
