After P.M. Showers, A Rain-Free Week Ahead For Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- After some possible showers Monday afternoon, you should finally be able to put your umbrella or raincoat back in the closet for a while.
Though the Chicago area could get some showers or storms in the evening on Monday, the rest of the week should be ideal summer weather, with warm and dry conditions, without being unbearably hot.
It was already very warm late Monday morning, with temperatures in the low 80s before noon, and expected to reach a high of about 88 in Chicago, but temperatures should be cooler the rest of the week.
Showers and storms moving across Iowa could come into play in the evening hours, between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., though more intense weather should stay well south of the Chicago area, in central and southern Illinois.
By midnight, skies should clear, and the Chicago area should stay rain free through the rest of the week.
The dry conditions also should usher in more comfortable temperatures after a hot and humid weekend, with highs in the low to mid 80s through Saturday, and lows in the low to mid 60s in the overnight hours.
