Comedian Gilbert Gottfried had been the voice of the iconic duck since 2000, but he recently was fired as the voice of the duck in Aflac's commercials because of insensitive jokes he tweeted about the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

Now Aflac is looking for a new voice for the duck, and the company holding auditions in six cities including Chicago.

Aflac's Laura Kane says the company hopes to choose someone within the next month. "We will be taking online submissions through April 1.

"We will be holding live auditions on April 4 and 5 with the goal of hopefully making a decision somewhat toward the end of April," she said.

Kane says it's a lucrative gig.

"It's certainly a six-figure job," she said.
