Adriano Medhane, 53, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Four Relatives
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 53-year-old man from West Rogers Park has been charged with sexually assaulting four relatives for several years.
Adriano Medhane was ordered held without bail on Wednesday, charged with four felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. Prosecutors said he faces a life sentence if convicted.
During his bond hearing, Cook County prosecutors said Medhane sexually assaulted the children over many years, at times threatening to kill the girls, their mother, and himself if they reported what he was doing.
Prosecutors said Medhane would shower with them, touch them sexually, and pin them down while kissing and sexually abusing them. He also would order the oldest to sleep in bed with him.
The girls are currently 7, 11, 14, and 16 years old, according to prosecutors.
The oldest secretly recorded one of the attacks as Medhane pinned her down, touched her sexually, kissed her, and laughed as she screamed for him to stop, prosecutors said. Police recovered the video as part of their investigation of the case.
Police said Medhane was arrested under an active warrant Monday afternoon at O'Hare International Airport.
Even with Medhane now being held without bail, a judge ordered him to have no contact with anyone under age 18.
