Adolf Hitler Miniature Golf Statue Stirs Controversy At English Art Gallery
(WSCR) If you thought there was no controversy involved in miniature golf, then you might be wrong.
A new art display in Blackpool, Lancashire in North West England features a miniature golf ornament depicting former Nazi ruler Adolf Hitler. The Hitler statue raises its arm in salute when a golf ball passes through it.
According to a report, those behind the gallery defended the statue by say they were placing "the powerful image of the Nazi regime within the context of holiday fun and in doing so making reference to the British wartime spirit of making humor at the Fuhrer's expense."
A member of The Board of Deputies of British Jews, Michael Samuels, said the work had "absolutely no artistic value whatsoever."
