Adjustments Will Highlight Bears-Seahawks Rematch
At this point in the week, everyone is aware of what happened the first time the Bears and Seahawks played this season. Sunday's game will come down to which team has made the adjustments since week six.
"We hope we've improved in all of the areas," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said. "Last time they beat us we didn't play well defensively. Mike Williams had a career day versus us. Offensively, we didn't really play well. Third downs really hurt us."
It's likely that these were the things that the Bears coaches emphasized in meetings and at practice all week. The Bears are clearly the more talented team, but their adjustments and growth since week six will seal the victory for them.
And Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll knows exactly what he and his team are going to have to deal with at Soldier Field.
"We look at a very very good football team," Carroll said of the Bears. "Obviously a championship team. A team that has really found a great balance on their offense. They have a great defense. They have special teams that you can just rave about, coaches, the whole thing. They have everything."
While Carroll and the Seahawks may respect the Bears, they certainly don't fear them. Much like they didn't fear the defending Super Bowl champs they beat last week in the first round.
