According To Forbes, Blackhawks 7th Most Valuable NHL Franchise
Over the previous few years the Chicago Blackhawks have made great strides, both on and off the ice, to become a better franchise. There was a time when games weren't on TV and the United Center was nearly empty for games. All that has changed and not only are the Blackhawks a top franchise on the ice, but also financially.
According to a recent Forbes article, the Blackhawks are the seventh most valuable franchise in the NHL. Forbes values the team at $300 million, up from the $258 they were valued at last year. But as most Blackhawks fans remember, things weren't always going so well. Back in 2006, the team was valued at $168 million.
The Blackhawks rank directly in front of rival Vancouver Canucks, but behind the team they beat for the 2010 Stanley Cup, the Philadelphia Flyers.
