Accidents Plague Roadways Over Weekend
CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) -- Illinois State Police are investigating after a nine-car pileup on the Dan Ryan, sent six people to the hospital – just one of many accidents in the city over the weekend.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Michele Fiore reports, two Sunday morning wrecks on the Dan Ryan sent 11 people to hospitals, even though the road was dry and the sun was shining at the time.

The first occurred at 8:36 a.m. in the express lanes near 33rd Street, according to an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper.
In this crash, as many as five people have been hospitalized with non life-threatening injures, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis. Hospital information was not immediately available.
As of 9:40 a.m., no lanes are closed, and the wreckage has been moved off the expressway, the trooper said.
At 9:07 a.m. a separate wreck occurred between the local and express lanes near 26th Street, according to the trooper.
Nine cars crashed and six people were taken to hospitals, according to Curtis who said an EMS Plan I, which automatically sends five ambulances to the scene, has been enacted.
A source suspects a stalled car led to the 26th Street accident.
On Saturday as light snow fell, at least seven vehicles slammed into each other in the express lanes of the Kennedy Expressway near Augusta Boulevard.
And it wasn't just the expressways that saw problems over the weekend At Augusta Boulevard and Sacramento Avenue in Humboldt Park, an accident injured six people.
