Wells To Make First Rehab Start On Tuesday
CHICAGO (CBS) Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Randy Wells will make his first rehab start on Tuesday when he pitches for the Cubs' Single-A affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs.
In April, Wells was placed on the disabled list with a strained right forearm, after making his first start of the season.
Wells pitched six innings and gave up six hits, four walks and one run in his only start. Casey Coleman and James Russell have struggled to fill in for Wells and Andrew Cashner, who were both placed on the disabled list on the same day.
Recently signed pitcher Doug Davis will make his Cubs debut on Saturday against the San Fransisco Giants. Davis last pitched in the majors with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2010. He has a career 4.38 earned run average over 12 seasons.
