A Key To Dunn's Success At Wrigley? Lake Michigan
(CBS) Adam Dunn has always loved hitting at Wrigley Field.
This weekend was no exception, as Dunn launched two home runs in eight at-bats and walked a whopping six times.
Dunn's career stat line at Wrigley is ridiculous: 27 HR, 48 RBI, .272 BA, .408 OBP, .642 SLG, 1.050 OPS.
So how does Dunn prepare for hitting at Wrigley?
"I check the lake," he said Sunday. "That's the key. If it's flat, (the wind is) blowing out. If it's choppy it's blowing in."
Dunn is pretty much right. Lake Michigan is usually calm when the wind is coming out of the south or west, and choppy when the wind is coming in from the north or east.
With winds out of the south or southwest all weekend, Dunn had the advantage while pitchers didn't. Sunday he checked the lake while driving to Wrigley with Jake Peavy.
"Yeah (I liked it), but he didn't," Dunn said while Peavy sat next to him in the clubhouse.
